We blew a tire 8 hrs into our trip from FL to PA. Lug nut broken, we were in a bind. Pep boys in Rock Hill, SC did us right! Got the part and got us rolling. They were very nice and friendly and gave us great service. We appreciate Jimmy, who took my call late Saturday and got things going in the right direction so we were back on the road by noon the next day.

If you're using a warranty service to have your repair done be prepared to hold the hand of the advisor at the desk during the process. I was told "I don't have time to coordinate with your warranty company". Normally, the advisor simply contacts the warranty company and submits the estimate for the repair and they exchange the necessary information to ensure the vehicle is repaired and the shop is paid. For whatever reason, on this day, I had to hold the hand of the advisor by contacting the warranty company myself and then merging the calls with the front desk personnel and then I had to sit on the phone the entire time while they discussed payment, coding, ordering, etc.. I had a wheel and tire replaced and as far as I can tell the mechanical side of things went well. However, the fact that as a customer, I had to facilitate the connection between the warranty provider and the repair shop felt unprofessional to me.

Just bought 2 band new tires. They put them on the back, and my car is a front wheel drive Toyota Camry. I thought that was odd. Called my dad, he told me to take it back and have them switch them. I told him I’d go somewhere else bc I was there for 2 hrs. Stopped at another place, thank God I did! The other 2 tires were both bad. Ended up having to buy two more tires and had them switch them for me. One of the tires had a huge bald spot and the other tire belt was clearly bad. Pep boys didn’t even check the old tires at all. I would advise everyone do not go here for tires!!

BIG shoutout to John, Andrew, Thomas, and Tommy/Mark. I have had a great experience with these guys. From getting my car there to helping just diagnose my issue on my Jeep. They have went above and beyond every step of the way in making sure the car is getting the care it needs and guiding me in the right direction. Really do recommend these people for anyone having issues with there car.

Mark was extremely helpful when I called on the phone with a bunch of questions. He provided all of the answers and didn't rush me off the phone, treating me like a customer that had an opportunity for them to make a sale and help me out too (since I needed a set of four tires). He wasn't trying to upsell me on other more expensive tires or services. Not only that but they made room to fit us in the same day. Once there, they had a nice waiting room with coffee, charging stations and comfortable seats. A technician was assigned to our vehicle and the change was underway in no time. They also took the time to hook our vehicle up to their tire diagnostic machine at no charge and determined that our tires were out of alignment. I wasn't sure about paying for the alignment, but they took the time to show me the actual software in action and cautioned me that not getting it would mean faster wear and tear on the new tires. Very helpful, respectful, patient operation. Highly recommended.
